Design Hotels We Love: Generator Hostel London

This entry of “Design Hotels We Love” features the Generator Hostel in London, which was recently renovated by Toronto-based The Design Agency. While not a hotel, this hip brand leads the “design hotel” trend in the world of hostels. They currently hold eight hostels across seven cities Europe, with London their original location. Each hostel follows a overall aesthetic theme for the brand, but all feature heavy influence from the local design culture and soul of its host city. They also incorporate classic and modern design cues to complete their eclectic package. Generator London is found in a former police station, giving it a varied landscape to work with for its interior design and decoration. Rooms range from intimate to a selection of large social areas. London-based ORBIT architects and the Acrylicize art collective contributed a authentic local flair to the design, artwork and details seen throughout the hostel.
